Androcentrism and economic theory, what women have to say about it?

Abstract

This paper presents some of the critics to the neoclassical paradigm from feminist economics. I discuss in which form neoclassical theories reproduce an androcentric bias in its concepts of market, rational choice and labour. It is proposed that, in Economics critical teaching, the theoretical and methodological contributions developed from gender studies must be included.
