La The energy transition as an opportunity for regional development: policies, actors and projects in Mendoza’s electric sector
Keywords:
Energy transition, Renewable energy projects, Socio-technical trajectories, Local productive capacities, Local actorsAbstract
This study analyzes socio-technical trajectories and the connections between provincial actors in renewable energy projects in Mendoza. Argentina, between 2006 and 2024. Using a qualitative methodology that combines the analysis of secondary sources and interviews with key informants, it examines the potential and limitations of the energy transition for developing local productive capacities. The results include a mapping of provincial project, their evolution, and the trajectories of relevant actors. It concludes that the energy transition represents an opportunity to build productive capacities, provided it is framed within a national policy that takes local trajectories into account.
