External debt and exchange run. An analysis of the Cambiemos government in historical perspective
Abstract
In Argentina and Latin America, for several decades, the external debt became a real burden on their populations from the growing budget items for the payment of their interests whose counterpart is the economic adjustment policies applied by the neoliberal governments. In this framework, the objective of this article is to analyze the evolution of the external debt from 1976 to 2017, analyzing its different cycles (of expansion and deleveraging), focusing the focus on the new process of external indebtedness initiated with the government of the alliance Cambiemos, considering its nature, characteristics and outstanding factors.
