The concept of "economic democracy" and the debates on the way out (of the crisis) of capi-talism

The contemporary crisis prefigures the transition to a new model, triggering discussions about alternatives of social organization and relaunching the discussion of the concept of “economic democracy.”. What is meant by the latter and how does it fit into the matrix of political economy? Being a little discussed concept, it has defined edges that emphasize the ability to influence the decisions of the economic process at the three economic levels: the micro, the meso-economic and the macro-political.
Economic democracy promotes debates about the ownership of the product and the means of production, the forms of circulation and the role of the market as allocator of resources, confronting central planning. In this article we will explore the concept of economic democracy and compare its explanatory power with the Argentine reality.
