Abstract

This article’s objective is to analyze the public policies of promotion to the Brazilian External Direct Investment (IED) in South America within the period of 2003 to 2010, as well to highlight some of its results over the region’s productive structure. It’s intended to show that such interventions were made in the molds of current international division of work and contributed to reinforce Brazil’s specialization as a raw materials and industrial commodities producer. Consequently, the governmental policy consolidates the Brazilian economy’s dependent condition and subordinated insertion of South American in the worldwide economy.
