Abstract

The aim of the article is to analyze the evolution of the Argentine labor market considering the structural characteristics of this country.

Capitals in Argentina have a growing production lag relative to the world average conditions of production. This situation implies that they require sources of compensation in order to survive. Historically, this role has been fulfilled by the rent of land. However, due to the transformations occurred worldwide in the mid-seventies and the growing lag, the sale of labor power below its value, and circumstantially, external debts appear as complementary sources. Thus, significant improvements in economic and labor indicators after the 2002 crisis are supported in real wages below their best historical values ??and on a rent flow ever recorded as well. So this explains that some variables have been unable to recover the best historical values, despite the recent growth.
