La The financialization of the State:
The introduction of principles of corporate governance in the administrative apparatus of the State
Abstract
Since the 1970s, procedures of corporate governance dominated by financial interests guide the reforms of the state administrative apparatus. They introduce mercantil ties, as well as valuation and competition imperatives in the heart of the State. We designate this phenomenon as financialization of the State. His study helps to reveal certain mechanisms of structural collusion between the State and the financial oligarchies. We analyze the fundamentals, the main facets and the evolution of this phenomenon. Likewise, we highlight its contradictions towards the very nature of the State.
